Learning From Umar Bin Abdul Aziz, ~ My brother, Umar bin Abdul Aziz was a descendant of 'Umar bin Khoththob. May Allah bless us both. There is a valuable lesson from the figure of Umar bin Abdul Aziz. That is when he is getting the top job in the midst of the Muslims are becoming Aamiirul Faithful, so he is getting ducked in front of Allah, his life is getting submissive, unpretentious and simple.
After becoming the supreme leader of the Muslims, not at all the luxury and splendor attached to his self. And if you look at the office or position at that time, it was easy for him to live wallowing in luxury. However, he chose to live in the world waro and ascetic. But even so, only within a period of four (4) years to bring the Muslims at prosperous life. And he died in a relatively young age. Husnul khotimah.
He holds a glory not because of his position alone, but because of an attitude of trust, responsibility, submissive, and piety to Allah SWT.
Allah Ta'ala. says, "And those who obey Allah and His Prophet and the fear of Allah and fear Him, then they are the ones who got the victory." (QS. An Nuur [24]: 52)Let us look up to him in achieving glory on the side of Allah Ta'ala. Be careful in life, running the command of Allah and stay away from each what Allah forbids us to do. May we include those who are noble in the presence of Allah Ta'ala.
